We moved SOL, ETH and BTC through Phantom on desktop and mobile and ran swaps to see the real spread before writing this. Phantom covers eight chains from one seed phrase, but a 0.85% swap fee and an open lawsuit over alleged key extraction are worth knowing first.

MetaMask Review: Still the Default, But Not the Cheapest

We installed MetaMask, swapped tokens, checked the fee against Rabby and tested its phishing defenses. The extension is still a solid starting point for Ethereum and DeFi, but its 0.875% swap fee is a real cost a newer wallet undercuts.
